Frequently asked questions

For any additional questions or clarifications, please contact me via email. I’ll be in touch within a few days.

  • Nope! I am not aiming for perfection, but for joy. You can see what brings me joy in these photos of my own spaces. Also, I try to do what “works” and is sustainable. In my own closet I use baskets on the shelves, and have quit folding my clothes -  not just “kondo-style” folding, but folding entirely. It doesn’t add to my speedy, simple lifestyle. I’d rather be drinking wine with my friends on the deck :)

  • I work with people of all ages, backgrounds and styles, including:

    • Older individuals who are downsizing or looking to age in place

    • Parents who would like to streamline the household’s functioning and make their lives easier

    • Adults, teens and children who would like to make their environments more manageable & uniquely reflect their values and passions

    • Individuals and families who are moving and need assistance in decision-making and sorting

    • Those sorting through material possessions after the loss of a loved one

    • Homeowners staging their homes for resale

  • This depends on the size of the space, the density of items, and your decision-making pace. I am a naturally fast worker (think ‘allegro’ in music), but I will coach you at a speed that feels effective and manageable to you. I have completed a full closet reorganization in two hours, and also in two sessions.

  • I can do both, depending on your level of interest in the details. After we come up with a game plan, you can choose how much you’d like to participate in the process, and what you’d like me to just “take care of.”

  • I prefer to use and repurpose items that you already own. Part of my process is also selecting/rediscovering items that bring you joy and finding more visible places for them! If I see a need for a specific item I might suggest that you purchase it and/or I can shop for you. Shopping will be billed at $80/hour.

  • I am able to remove small loads of items for donation, and can make suggestions and arrangements regarding larger and/or saleable items. I will do my best to not leave you feeling “stuck” with unwanted items!

  • I am based in Amherst, MA, and my primary service area is Western Massachusetts. Travel time of 15 minutes each way is complimentary. Additional travel will be billed at a 50% rate, $40/hr.

  • I do not offer refunds, but will continue to work with you and communicate with you in order to achieve your goals.

  • My work focuses on how your relationship to your “stuff” impacts your life, and how we can create more space for joy. While that might be a byproduct of working with an organizer or designer, it is often secondary to the goal of making things tidy or presentable.
